How to Reduce Unwanted Mail To reduce the amount of unsolicited offers you receive in the mail, register for name-removal with the Direct Marketing Association’s Mail Preference Service (MPS). Once you’ve registered, marketers who are Association members are required to remove your name from their mailing lists. To register online, go to www.ExactEmail.com and enter Word: JLFranklin, Extension: Mail Preference. (ExactEmail is a Web address (URL) alias service that allows us to send you directly to the relevant page, saving you from having to type in a long URL yourself.) Alternatively, you can send a signed letter with your name, address and a check for $1 payable to DMA to:
Mail Preference Service The DMA charges $1 for each name removed, and registration stays in effect for five years- or until you move. Once your registration is in effect, you may continue to receive mail from local merchants, political candidates, and organizations with which you are already affiliated, in addition to generic mail addressed to "occupant/resident."
