JLFranklin Wealth Planning specializes in investment management, comprehensive financial planning, stock-option planning, and tax planning. We believe that these are issues your employees could benefit from knowing more about, regardless of their individual income or net worth.

After nearly two decades in the financial world, we have found that education is the best way to help people better their financial futures. Based on this theory, we have developed a one-hour 20-20-20 Seminar. It's a solid but informal group session in which we spend 20 minutes discussing stock options, 20 minutes addressing retirement concerns, and 20 minutes answering employees' questions.

This seminar is not a sales pitch. Its only purpose is to offer practical information on stock options, tax issues, employee stock purchase plans, and 401(k) plans that people can apply to their current financial situations. Of course, we are in the business of building long-term relationships. Should any of your employees require further financial counseling, we would be delighted if they turned to us.

We have found that employees appreciate the 20-20-20 Seminar, because it helps them to become more knowledgeable about financial benefits and choices offered through their employer. Your employees will also see the education they'll receive as an additional company benefit -- one that brings home the importance of staying on board and accruing the long-term rewards that come with stock vesting and retirement savings. Plus, it never hurts to encourage employees to find ways to make better use of their paychecks.

20-20-20 Seminar

The purpose of this seminar is to provide focused education on two typically broad subjects -- employee stock options and retirement planning. We'll devote 20 minutes to each of these subjects, with the final 20 minutes devoted to answering questions from the audience.

Employee Stock Options

  • An explanation of your company's specific stock option plans (e.g., incentive and non-qualified stock options), including vesting schedules, and expiration dates
  • The employee stock purchase plan with an explanation of how shares are purchased, the "bargain element" portion of each share's purchase price, and tax consequences
  • Tax strategies for dealing with stock options

Retirement Planning

This module can be customized to your company's specific needs. Possible topics include the following:

  • How to reduce a concentrated equity position
  • Benefits of investment diversification
  • Asset allocation
  • Strategic investment planning
  • A discussion of your company's 401(k) plan
  • An explanation of your company's deferred compensation plan (if applicable)
  • Cash flow planning
  • Goal Setting

Question and Answer Session

The final 20 minutes will address audience questions and concerns regarding stock options, taxes, and retirement planning.
